Easyhotel has opened its first hotel in Ireland with a property in Dublin.

The 160-room hotel is located in the Smithfield area of the Irish capital and holds BREEAM certification owing to its efficient use of energy and space.

The hotel is close to tourist attractions such as the Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar and Dublin Castle as well as business parks including The Guinness Enterprise Centre and Iconic Offices. It is also a ten-minute walk from Heuston train station and six minutes from Smithfield tram stop.

Easyhotel aims to reach 100 hotels by 2026, with plans to have hotels open in 15 countries in the next 15 months. As it stands, the group has 44 hotels across Europe, including recent additions in Madrid and France and forthcoming properties in Paris, Valencia and Zurich.

The group operates a hybrid approach, with 19 of its current hotels (2,000 rooms) franchised, and the other 25 (2,000 rooms) owned and leased.

Karim Malak, CEO at Easyhotel, said:

“It’s fantastic to be opening our first hotel in Ireland and the dynamic city of Dublin. It’s a brilliant city which is gaining more and more traction with both tourists and business travellers, and we are looking forward to giving people affordable ways to experience it. I’m proud of our ability to offer people low-carbon stays which are friendlier towards the environment.

“Our compact hotel designs mean we use 15-20% less carbon than the market average for each stay. Guests will still enjoy all the important elements needed for a great night’s sleep – a comfortable mattress, blackout blinds and a quiet room.
