Accor has unveiled the $30 million refurbishment of the beachfront Manly Pacific Sydney M Gallery.

Originally opened in the early 1900s as Hotel Pacific, the property has previously traded under Accor’s Novotel brand, but has now joined the group’s boutique M Gallery offering.

The 213-room hotel features a rooftop pool and bar with coastal views, as well as new lobby bar 55 North (after the property’s location on North Steyne), Japanese fusion restaurant Tokyo Joe, and French eatery Bistro Manly.

Interiors have been revamped by Australian designers Coco Republic, with pale bleached woods and travertine stone “drawing on the natural beauty of the Northern Beaches”.

The hotel also now features a new 177sqm Infinity Residence one-bedroom suite, as well as nine ocean-facing, two-bedroom two-bathroom Coastal Suites.

The refurbishment of Manly Pacific Sydney M Gallery follows the recent reopening of The Porter House Hotel – M Gallery on Sydney’s Castlereagh Street, partially housed within an 1870s building which was originally home to the Dixson and Sons tobacco factory and warehouse.

Last month Accor outlines plans to open nine hotels across Australia and New Zealand in 2023, including two properties under the group’s business-oriented Pullman brand.

Commenting on the refurbishment general manager Dylan Cole, said:

“We’re showcasing Manly’s creative community throughout the hotel, from displaying the works of local photographers to heroising local produce on our plates and featuring artisan craft pieces throughout the property.

“At every touch point, we’ve considered the extra level of detail guests now expect from a great hotel experience, with a key focus on sustainability initiatives, such as smarter energy-saving room controls to electric car charging stations.

“We’ve brought a new level of sophistication to Manly without losing the quintessential way of life of the Northern Beaches, from its laid-back lifestyle and strong connection to the sea and wellbeing.”
