Dubai-based carrier, flydubai, will resume its operations to Ashgabat in Turkmenistan this month.

Starting January 23, it will operate twice-weekly services to Ashgabat International airport (ASB). Ashgabat is the capital and largest city in Turkmenistan and is nestled in between the Karakum Desert and Kopetdag mountains.

Flights between Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB) and ASB will operate on Mondays and Thursdays. Emirates will codeshare on this route.

On average, return business class fares from DXB to ASB start from Dhs7,350 and economy class lite fares from Dhs2,430.

With the resumption of flights to Ashgabat, flydubai would have expanded its network in Central Asia to nine points in five countries. These include Almaty, Ashgabat, Astana, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Namangan, Osh, Samarkand, Tashkent.

Beginning this month, the airline will also commence flights to seven new destinations including Cagliari, Corfu, Gan, Krabi, Milan Bergamo, Pattaya and St Petersburg, growing its network to 116 destinations in 53 countries.

The carrier operates a single fleet-type of 72 Boeing 737 aircraft and includes: 32 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800, 37 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 3 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
