Austrian Airlines has announced plans to operate two direct flights per week to Shanghai’s Pudong International from January 16, 2023.

The airline will operate the Vienna-Shanghai route on Mondays and Fridays, and the Shanghai-Vienna route on Mondays and Wednesdays. Flights will be operated by a B777 aircraft.

Timings are as follows:

Departs Vienna 2330, arrives in Shanghai at 1745 (following day)

Flight time of 11 hours 15 minutes

Departs Shanghai 2300, arrives in Vienna at 0445 (following day)

Flight time of 12 hours 45 minutes

The increased frequency was initially planned for the summer flight schedule. Austrian says it is being implemented earlier in response to the “ongoing strong demand from and to China”.
