SAS has added a second weekly service between Copenhagen and Shanghai’s Pudong International airport.
The additional frequency will first operate on December 16, before becoming a regular service from January 6, 2023.
From the new year flights will depart Copenhagen every Tuesday and Friday, returning from Shanghai on Thursdays and Sundays.
The route is served by SAS’ A350 aircraft, and the carrier said that flights had been “conveniently timed with late evening departures from Copenhagen and early morning arrivals back in Copenhagen to ensure full connectivity for passengers and air cargo with the SAS network”.
As with most other carriers operating between Europe and China SAS has been rerouting its existing Copenhagen-Shanghai service since March to avoid Russia airspace.
Currently the Shanghai-bound service takes around 11 hours 55 minutes, with the return flight to Copenhagen taking 14 hours 15 minutes.
