Marriott’s luxury lifestyle brand Edition Hotels is set to grow its portfolio to 30 properties by 2027.
Edition Hotels currently operates 15 hotels worldwide, with an additional five set to open next year in Rome, Mexico, Singapore, Jeddah and Tokyo. Expansion will continue into 2024 with signings in destinations such as Lake Como and the Red Sea.
The brand has also unveiled its new standalone luxury residences concept following the success of Edition residences as part of hotel developments in Miami, West Hollywood and Tampa.
The first standalone Edition branded residences are under development in Miami Edgewater and Fort Lauderdale and anticipated to open in 2026 and 2027 respectively.

The Rome Edition – expected to open in spring 2023
The brand’s first Italian property will be housed within a historical building designed by Cesare Pascoletti in collaboration with architect Marcello Piacentini, close to Via Veneto and Bernini’s Tritone Fountain in Piazza Barberini. The hotel will feature 93 rooms and suites, including two penthouses each with a private terrace. There will be a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space; a Punch Room bar with cocktails; and a rooftop terrace. In addition to customisable indoor and outdoor event spaces, there are also plans for a rooftop swimming pool, a high-tech gym, and two treatment rooms.
The Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai – expected to open in summer 2023
The brand’s first property in Mexico will be located in the Kanai development and include 180 rooms and suites, six food and beverage outlets including a signature restaurant, pool bar and beach club, spa and a 206 sqm Penthouse Suite. In addition to multiple meeting spaces, the hotel will also house an extensive outdoor deck for large scale events and parties.
The Jeddah Edition – expected to open in summer 2023
The brand’s third property in the Middle East will be located along the Jeddah Corniche next to the Yacht Club and Marina as well as the F1 racetrack, with access to Jeddah’s City Center and the Mall of Arabia. With 63 rooms, including 11 suites, the new hotel is slated to feature a signature restaurant, lobby lounge, intimate bar, rooftop, and pool.
The Tokyo Edition, Ginza – expected to open in summer 2023
Following the successful launch in late 2020 of the brand’s first hotel in Japan – The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon – the brand will expand to the city’s commercial district of Ginza. The newly constructed property will be situated just off Chuo Street, and includes plans for 78 rooms and suites, three food and beverage destinations including a rooftop bar, together with a meeting studio and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
The Singapore Edition – expected to open in autumn 2023
Singapore is slated to be the location of the brand’s first hotel in Southeast Asia. The 190-room property will be located in the downtown Orchard district and include five restaurant and bar venues, a rooftop pool, spa, and fitness centre, as well as 600 sqm of indoor and outdoor meeting space for events.
Edition Hotels was conceived as a joint venture between Marriott and American hotelier and entrepreneur Ian Schrager, with the first property opening in Waikiki in 2010.
