Low-cost carrier Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has announced two new routes between the capital of the UAE and Russia.

It will launch services to Kazan and Yekaterinburg in Russia this month.

Starting December 29, it will operate two weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Koltsovo International airport every Monday and Thursday.

Beginning the following day, December 30, it will initiate twice weekly flights every Tuesday and Friday between Abu Dhabi and Kazan International airport.

All the services will be operated using an Airbus A320. Air Arabia Group operates a fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 neo-LR aircraft. During the first nine months of the year, Air Arabia added 10 new aircraft to its fleet.

With the addition of its new routes to Kazan and Yekaterinburg, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will be operating services on 28 routes from the UAE capital to destinations including Cairo, Muscat, Sarajevo, Mumbai and Tbilisi, among others.

Earlier this month, Air Arabia said that it would also begin flights to three destinations in Russia – Ufa, Yekaterinburg and Kazan – from Sharjah. Apart from these three routes in Russia, Air Arabia already operates thrice daily flights between Sharjah and Moscow.

More than 3.9 million passengers flew with Air Arabia Group between July and September 2022 across the carrier’s six hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt and Armenia. That figure represents an increase of 103 per cent compared to the number of passengers carried in the same quarter last year.
