Motto by Hilton debuts in Rotterdam

Hilton has opened its first property under its Motto by Hilton lifestyle brand in Europe.

Motto by Hilton Rotterdam Blaak is located in a refurbished bank in the seaport city. Designers have retained the building’s original staircases, a vault door and wooden panelling, while red, yellow and blue colour schemes highlight the influence of Modernist art.

The hotel offers 108 rooms with streaming services on 55-inch TVs, conveniently located power outlets and “flexible sleeping setups” to allow for larger family and friend groups, with layouts including standard beds, bunk beds and flex beds that stow into the wall. There are also 14 connecting rooms.

Dining facilities include Motto Commons, a hub where guests can meet, work or socialise over light bites, drinks, tea and coffee, as well as fish restaurant Pesca which will offer dynamic pricing that adapts according to demand throughout the day. There will also be grab and go options for those on the move.

The hotel is within walking distance of Blaak underground station, shopping and eating destination Markthal and the Cube Houses.

As Hilton’s first lifestyle property in The Netherlands, Motto by Hilton Rotterdam Blaak joins 14 trading hotels in the Netherlands, including Hilton Rotterdam and the recently opened Doubletree by Hilton Sittard.

The Motto by Hilton brand was launched in 2018, and was described at the time as an affordable chain of micro-hotels in urban centres, combining a hostel vibe with private rooms and hotel perks.
