The Chedi Katara Hotel and Resort has officially opened in Doha ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.

Located in the Katara Cultural Village, a 30-minute drive from Hamad International airport, The Chedi Katara is managed by General Hotel Management (GHM).

It is a 91-key resort with 59 rooms and suites with sea views. The resort also houses 32 villas, each with its own private garden and pool. The Hills of Katara surround the entire property, offering guests privacy for all rooms, suites, and villas. The interiors represent a blend of Moghul architecture and Ottoman influence.

The Chedi Club offers guests who stay in Club Rooms and suites and the Royal Villa additional exclusive benefits. These include complimentary, breakfast and afternoon tea served daily, daily laundry service, and complimentary use of the board meeting room.

Wellness options include The Spa that delivers Asian-inspired rituals and wellness treatments rooted in aromatherapy, Ayurveda, and herbalism. The spa has a men’s area with two private spa suites and a dedicated men’s private hammam, while a women’s area features two private spa suites and two women’s-only hammams. There is also a dedicated couple’s room accessible from both the male and female sides. The Chedi Katara also features access to a fully-serviced private beach along a 300m shoreline.

Culinary concepts at The Chedi Katara include signature all-day dining, The Restaurant, with live-cooking stations. The property will also host The Beach Restaurant, The Lobby Lounge and The Cigar Lounge.

Its meeting and events space includes two meeting rooms, as well as a range of private and outdoor spaces for gatherings.

The Chedi Katara is developed by the Qatari real estate consortium, Triple A Holdings, in partnership with Katara Cultural Village. The resort provides its guests with access to theatres, concert halls, exhibition galleries, mosques, restaurants, shops, a park and an open amphitheater.

“We are thrilled to welcome guests at GHM’s newest beachfront landmark, The Chedi Katara Hotel and Resort, in line with the brand’s 30th anniversary and ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022,” said Morton Johnston, general manager at The Chedi Katara Hotel and Resort.

GHM has a pipeline of five projects across the world including The Chedi El Gouna, another beachfront resort scheduled to open in December 2022 on the Red Sea in Egypt.
