Qatar Airways has commenced daily operations between Doha and Dusseldorf in Germany.
The inaugural flight using a Boeing 787 aircraft from Hamad International airport to Dusseldorf International airport took place on Tuesday, November 15.
QR085 will depart from Doha at 8am daily and land in Dusseldorf at 12:45pm. QR086 will then take off from Dusseldorf at 3.25pm and arrive in Doha at 11.20pm.
Dusseldorf is the fourth destination that the airline flies to in Germany. It already operates services to Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin.
The new direct services to Dusseldorf uses the Boeing 787 Dreamliner that features 22 seats in business class and 232 seats in economy class.
“We are delighted to launch direct services to Dusseldorf, expanding our services in Germany, and marking our entry to the Ruhr region – just in time for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. With this new service, not only will German passengers enjoy daily flights from a new location, but customers in the nearby countries of Belgium and the Netherlands will also have access to over 150 destinations across Africa, Asia and the Middle East,” said Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group chief executive.
In related developments for the airline, it reopened its Premium Lounge at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International airport. The facility is located on level 3 of the airport’s Concourse D, and is open to Qatar Airway’s and Oneworld passengers travelling in business and first class – elite tier status members not travelling in a premium cabin are directed to the Miracle Lounge.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways and Accor recently strengthened the partnership between their respective loyalty programmes (Privilege Club and ALL – Accor Live Limitless). Members of the loyalty programmes can now earn both Avios and ALL Reward points when linking their membership accounts.
Qatar Airways Privilege Club members will earn up to one Avios point for every €1 spent on eligible stays at participating Accor hotels, in addition to the usual ALL Reward points. ALL members can additionally earn one ALL Reward point for every US$2 spent on eligible Qatar Airways flights, alongside the usual Avios.
