Low-cost carrier Air Arabia has confirmed this week that it will start flying to three cities in Russia from the UAE  next month.

It will launch three new routes from Sharjah to Ufa, Yekaterinburg and Kazan in Russia beginning December 1, 2022.

Apart from these three new routes in Russia, Air Arabia already operates thrice daily flights between Sharjah and Moscow.

This week, Air Arabia reported net profit increases of 242 per cent year-on-year in the first nine months of this year, to reach Dhs867 million. It launched 14 new routes over the first three quarters of this year ending September 30, 2022.

In the third quarter of 2022, the airline recorded a turnover of Dhs1.6 billion, a 100 per cent rise over the same quarter of last year. It added that over 3.9 million passengers flew with Air Arabia Group between July and September 2022 across its six hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt and Armenia.

More than nine million passengers flew with Air Arabia across its six hubs in the first nine months of 2022, an rise of 118 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year. From January-September this year, Air Arabia also added 10 new aircraft to its fleet.
