Hilton has announced plans to add a second Conrad property in Singapore, with the rebranding of the existing Regent Singapore.

The 440-room hotel will become the Conrad Singapore Orchard on January 1, 2023, with “extensive room refurbishments” set to be completed by the first quarter of 2024.

The property features ten restaurants and bars, including Manhattan, Basilico and Summer Palace, as well as a fitness centre and more than 1,600 sqm of events space.

The Conrad Singapore Orchard will be housed within a building designed by the late architect John C Portman Jr, who was known for his designs featuring multi-storey interior atria. The property first opened in 1982 as the Pavilion Intercontinental Hotel.

Hilton has announced plans to add a second Conrad property in Singapore, with the rebranding of the existing Regent Singapore.

Conrad Singapore Orchard will join the existing Conrad Centennial Singapore, and follows the recent opening of the 1,080-room Hilton Singapore Orchard (itself a conversion of the former Mandarin Orchard Singapore).

Earlier this year Hilton opened its largest Conrad property in Asia, with the unveiling of the Conrad Shanghai, and Conrad hotels are also under development in Kuala Lumpur and Nagoya.

Commenting on the news Nils-Arne Schroeder, vice president, luxury, Asia Pacific, Hilton, said:

“Launching our second Conrad hotel in Singapore reflects our strategic intent to expand the brand in the world’s most desirable destinations.

“As we welcome the resurgence of travel in Asia Pacific, we are confident the intuitive service and meaningful hospitality that Conrad Hotels and Resorts is known for will elevate Conrad Singapore Orchard’s position as one of the city’s top hotels for business and leisure travel in Singapore.

“When it opens post-refurbishment, the hotel will offer guests discreet yet sophisticated luxury, a personalised level of service and inspiring travel experiences, all of which are hallmarks of a truly exceptional luxury stay.”
