Dubai-based flydubai has said that it will launch a new daily service to Gan International airport (GAN) from February 4, 2023.

It started its operations to the Maldives in 2013 with the launch of direct flights to Velana International airport (MLE) in Male, the capital of the Maldives.

With the start of the new daily service to Gan next year, the carrier will increase its Maldives frequency to 28 weekly flights.

The schedule of flights to GAN from February next year is below:

Departure Airport Arrival Airport Departure Time Arrival Time
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
FZ  1357 DXB GAN 9.15am 4pm
FZ  1358 GAN DXB 11pm 3.55am
Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
FZ  1355 DXB GAN 2.30am 9.15am
FZ  1356 GAN DXB 10:15am 3.10pm

The flights from Dubai will operate daily from Terminal 3, at Dubai International (DXB) to Gan. Emirates will also codeshare on this route.

Return business class fares from DXB to Gan start at Dhs7,400 and economy class at Dhs4,050.

“The start of our daily flights to the southern island of Gan will give our passengers more options to travel to the Maldives. This new service will reduce the commute time whether by boat or seaplane for those staying in resorts in the southern Atolls. The Maldives continues to be one of the most popular leisure destinations for our customers from the UAE, GCC and CIS. The additional frequency to the market will further support connecting traffic from Europe as well,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer at flydubai.
