British Airways Executive Club members now have the option to purchase a regular monthly boost of Avios.
The Avios Subscription service launched this week, and enables members to sign up to one of four subscription plans – Voyager, Traveller, Explorer and Adventurer.
Plans can be paid for monthly or annually, with those opting for the latter getting two months for free.
The Voyager plan offers a monthly boost of 1667 Avios (20,000 per year), for a monthly cost of £19 or an annual fee of £185.
The Traveller plan offers a monthly boost of 4,167 Avios (50,000 per year), for a monthly cost of £45 or an annual fee of £455.
The Explorer plan offers a monthly boost of 8,334 Avios (100,000 per year), for a monthly cost of £89 or an annual fee of £899.
And finally the Adventurer plan offers a monthly boost of 16,667 Avios (200,000 per year), for a monthly cost of £179 or an annual fee of £1,789.
For the monthly payment options, the minimum term is three months, while for the annual option the minimum term if 12 months, with subscriptions automatically renewing after 12 months unless cancelled.
The Adventurer option enables members to purchase at a rate of just under 0.9p (0.8945) per Avios.
Note also that the 200,000 maximum subscription option is in addition to the 200,000 Avios allowance through ‘Buy Avios’.
In a press release BA said that the new service offers “the best value way to buy Avios, adding:
“British Airways believes in treating every Executive Club Member as the one-of-a-kind individual they are, so Avios Subscription isn’t a one-size-fits-all model.”
