Qatar Airways has launched a flash promotion to celebrate its 25th birthday, with up to 25 per cent off fares, as well as bonus Avios and Qpoints.

The offer runs for bookings made by August 28, for travel between September 1, 2022 and August 28, 2023.

It is valid for flights from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester or Edinburgh, to destinations including Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Cape Town, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Customers booking economy class fares will get up to 25 per cent off when using the code 25YEARS, while those booking business and first class tickets will get up to 12 per cent off.

Note that the discount is on the ‘fare per passenger’ amount visible in the price breakdown summary after flight selection – any other taxes, service fees or standard market charges will be payable and displayed at the time of booking.

A full list of eligible destinations can be seen here.

In addition Privilege Club members will get a bonus of 2,500 Avios when booking flights under the same conditions above, plus 25 Qpoints if booking in business or first class.

Members must log-in using their credentials when booking, and Avios / Qpoints will be awarded based on the cabin of travel of the first leg of the journey.

Earlier this year Qatar Airways unveiled one of its B777 aircraft painted in a special retro livery, as part of the carrier’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

The airline in fact began operations in early 1994, but considers 2022 to be its 25th birthday as the carrier was relaunched in 1997 under the mandate of His Highness The Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Flights to London also commenced that year.
