UAE-headquartered low-cost carrier, Air Arabia, has said that it will launch direct flights from Sharjah to the city of Milan in Italy later this year.

The new flights will connect Sharjah International Airport with Milan Bergamo Airport with four weekly services starting December 7, 2022.

On Wednesdays and Sundays, G9 710 will depart from Sharjah at 6.45am and land in Milan at 10.45am. G9 711 will then leave from Milan at 11.45am and land in Sharjah at 9pm.

On Mondays and Thursdays, G9 712 will depart from Sharjah at 9.55pm and land in Milan at 1.55am. The return flight, G9 713 will depart on Tuesdays and Fridays respectively, at 2.55am and land in Sharjah at 12.10pm.

All flights will be operated using the airline’s A321 aircraft. The aircraft is also equipped with SkyTime, a free in-flight streaming service that will allow passengers to stream a selection of entertainment directly to their devices.

Bookings for the new flights have opened on the airline’s website. Eligible travellers can avail of the carrier’s City Check-in service where they can drop off their bags and collect their boarding passes at the Air Arabia Sales Shops across the UAE.

Air Arabia recently reported a net profit of Dhs451 million for the first six months ending June 30, 2022. That figure represents a 925 per cent increase compared to the Dhs44 million it registered in the corresponding period in 2021. Also, more than 5.2 million passengers flew with Air Arabia between January and June 2022 across the carrier’s five hubs, an increase of 131 per cent year-on-year.
