Marriott has opened a new hotel under its AC Hotels brand in Bethesda, Maryland.

The 18-storey AC Hotel Bethesda Downtown is adjacent to the Avocet Tower office building at the intersection of Montgomery and Wisconsin Avenues. While there is a separate entrance to the hotel, it shares amenities such as a 465 sqm fitness centre, 325 sqm of meeting spaces, and the all-day restaurant Corella Café and Lounge with the office building.

The 220-room hotel is located a few blocks from Marriott’s new global headquarters and across the street from the Bethesda metro station, which guests can use to travel to Washington DC.

The hotel’s artwork has been curated by Kalisher and Material Driven and includes two installations by German Artis Anke Neumann in the shared space, crafted from fiber optic lights and handmade paper.

Earlier this year Marriott opened its 8,000th property adjacent to its soon-to-open global headquarters in Bethesda.
