Marriott has opened the first hotel under its select service Fairfield brand in Costa Rica.

Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela is located within a five-minute drive of the capital’s Juan Santamaria International airport.

The property features 120 rooms with separate work and rest areas, as well as signature restaurant Fairfield Garden, serving complimentary Costa Rican and American breakfast choices, and local and international dinner options.

Other facilities include a fitness centre, The 24-hour Corner Market shop, and just under 140 sqm of meeting and events space.

Last year Marriott announced plans to open two Costa Rican properties unders its Fairfield and Residence Inn brands. Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Curridabat will be located in Guayabos de Curridabat, a growing business cluster east of San Jose, while Residence Inn Alajuela will be located in Coyol de Alajuela, which is regarded as the country’s new logistics hub.
