IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened its fourth property in New York, with a hotel in the borough of Queens.

The 150-room Hotel Indigo Flushing is located close to Flushing Main Street, a seven minute walk to Main Street station which offers the 7 Train to Manhattan. It is also a five minute drive from LaGuardia airport.

The hotel features locally inspired design by Jackson Creative Group which includes organic materials and finishes.

The atrium-style lobby has a peach blossom tree art piece and a cascading chandelier “reminiscent of rain drops”, while the contemporary guest rooms have a grey and yellow colour palette and peach blossom murals.

Those that are keen on panoramic views of the city skyline should opt for its King Terrace guest rooms, which include private terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows. All rooms include free wifi.

Its restaurant on the third floor, Botanica Bar and Lounge, offers cocktails and food inspired by the neighbourhood’s global influences. The hotel is also steps away from Taiwanese bakeries, Cantonese noodle shops and Shanghai-inspired dumpling houses.

Facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre on the fourth floor, a business centre and a 58 sqm meeting room.

Carol Hoeller, VP Global Brand Management for Hotel Indigo, commented:

“The opening of Hotel Indigo Flushing is an exciting development for the fast-growing Hotel Indigo portfolio. We strive to make locals proud with each new opening, celebrating the neighborhood and becoming part of the community. This hotel demonstrates the best of Flushing, both in the design and guest stay, and will provide travelers with an authentic new experience that empowers them to explore.”

The group currently operates 133 Hotel Indigo properties worldwide, with another 119 in the pipeline. Recent openings include Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre in Australia.
