*****UPDATE: It seems that the Hamlet Larkfield Priory Hotel is currently closed and not taking bookings. Local reports suggested that the hotel had been “earmarked by the Home Office to house refugees”, although it is understood this plan has now been dropped.*****

To be or not to be – new hotel brand Hamlet Hotels has set an ambitious target of adding 50 properties to its portfolio in the next 12 months.

The soft brand is looking to partner with independent hotels in the UK and Europe, ranging in size between 70 and 250 rooms.

Only one hotel is currently available for booking via hamlethotels.com – the Hamlet Larkfield Priory Hotel in Maidstone, but the group’s website also lists unspecified properties as forthcoming in London, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff, Brighton and Edinburgh.

According to boutqiuehotelnews.com Hamlet Hotels is looking to take over the sales and marketing, revenue management, online distribution and day-to-day operations of partner properties, including front and back-office operations, HR, health and safety, accounts and finance.

The group also said it is targeting new-build sites across the UK and Ireland, as well as conversion opportunities.

Hamlet Hotels’ COO Prasanna Kirubakaran is quoted by boutiquehotelnews.com as saying:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for hotel owners wanting to guarantee their income and increase the value of their property, whilst taking a step back from the day-to-day operations of hotel management.

“We know our target of 50 hotels is ambitious, but we are confident in our product and can’t wait to partner with some fantastic hotels.”
