Indian carrier Vistara has announced several “wellness-focused” initiatives including new IFE content and amenity kits.

From August 1 business class customers on Vistara long-haul flights to and from London Heathrow, Frankfurt and Paris will be offered “ayurvedic wellness amenity kits”, which contain Forest Essentials products including a sleep spray made from geranium, lavender, nutmeg, and sandalwood essential oils, as well as a kokum butter, organic beeswax and cocoa butter lip balm, and a body milk infused with burnt cane sugar, beeswax, cream of milk and apricot oil.

In addition the carrier has added over 17 hours of wellness-focused content to its fleet-wide IFE system, in partnership with health and wellness app Shyft.

The content includes guided meditations, soothing music and sleep-inducing stories, “created and curated by certified professionals to help passengers ‘Feel the Pause’ and fight fatigue, lack of sleep, stiffness of muscles, and fear of heights and turbulence”.

The new initiatives following the introduction of a yoga-inspired inflight safety video in 2020, and the use of ‘Human Centric Lighting’ on Vistara’s B787-9 aircraft, designed “to enhance the relaxing and comfortable experience customers have onboard”.
