Marriott Bonvoy has launched three co-branded credit cards in China with Citic Bank.

The gold, platinum and premium platinum cards will provide residents of mainland China with benefits including accelerated earning of Marriott Bonvoy points, which can be redeemed for free nights at over 8,000 properties around the world.

Members with a gold card will be automatically awarded Silver Elite status and five Elite Night Credits, as well as the benefit of earning two points for every RMB18 spent at hotels within the programme and one point on all other purchases.

Platinum cardholders will get Gold Elite status, ten Elite Night Credits and one Free Night Awards for a stay of up to 12,500 points. They will also earn two points for every RMB10 spent at hotels within the programme and one point on all other purchases.

Premium platinum cardholders will also achieve Gold Elite Status but with 15 Elite Night Credits and two Free Night Awards, each valued at 35,000 points. They will also earn three points for every RMB10 spent at hotels within the programme and one point on all other purchases.

Those that depend RMB500,000 with the Premium Platinum card within a 12-month period after activation will be awarded Platinum Elite status and one additional Free Nigh Award for a stay of up to 35,000 points.

Cardholders can also enjoy up to 10 per cent off Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques website, 20 per cent off dining and 10 per cent off best available rates on accommodations at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy in China (including all managed hotels and selected franchised hotels).

The loyalty programme has also launched limited time offers for cardholders who apply and activate their card between June 28 and August 31 2022. These include:

  • Gold cardholders who spend RMB10,000 within the first three months of card activation can earn 5,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points
  • Platinum cardholders who spend RMB20,000 within the first three months of card activation can earn 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points
  • Premium Platinum cardholders who spend RMB30,000 within the first three months of card activation can fast-track their way to the Platinum Elite status or earn 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points
