Emirates has announced that it will start daily services from Dubai to Mexico City, via Barcelona, from Thursday, June 23, 2022.

The latest decision will boost the frequency of the carrier’s services from six weekly flights to seven.

It will therefore increase its average capacity and offer around 2,000 seats per week to and from the capital of Mexico.

Emirates flight EK255 will depart Dubai at 3.25am, arriving in Barcelona at 8.35am before departing again at 10.50am and arriving into Mexico City at 4.05pm the same day.

On its return leg, Emirates flight EK 256 will depart Mexico City at 7.40pm, arriving in Barcelona at 1.45pm the next day. EK256 will depart from Barcelona the same day at 3.30pm and arrive in Dubai at 12.15am the following day.

Citizens from Mexico, Spain and the UAE can avail visa-free travel to each other’s countries.

Emirates’ Mexico City flight is a linked service with Barcelona, allowing customers to cover three destinations in one trip.

The Dubai-Barcelona-Mexico route is operated with a two-class Emirates Boeing 777-200LR offering 38 business class seats in a 2-2-2 configuration and 264 seats in economy class.

The airline added that among other destinations, it will return to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro on November 2, and launch flights to Tel Aviv from June 23.

Emirates said earlier this week that it is preparing for its busiest period yet, with over 550,000 customers expected to fly out from the UAE between June and July on over 2,400 weekly network-wide departures. It said that it will be operating close to 80 per cent of its pre-pandemic capacity, or over 1 million weekly seats this summer.
