Hyatt has opened its first hotel under its Hyatt Place brand in Montreal, located in the Village neighbourhood.

Hyatt Place Montreal Downtown is located on Rue Saint-Hubert and is connected to the city’s largest metro station Berri-UQAM.

The hotel was acquired in August 2019 by Sageblan Investments and has undergone a $25 million renovation. The 354 guest rooms include separate spaces to sleep and work, as well as a sofa bed. Facilities include a fitness centre, an indoor pool and sauna, ten meeting rooms and remote working space, and Le Coin restaurant, bar and lounge.

Guests benefit from a complimentary breakfast, and there’s also a Starbucks attached to the hotel.

Kathleen Machabee, general manager of Hyatt Place Montreal Downtown, commented:

“As the Société de développement commercial (SDC) du Village continues to develop the neighborhood, we are thrilled to be part of the momentum by welcoming the first Hyatt Place hotel in Quebec.

“By creating a thoughtful, approachable, and accessible place to stay, we want to connect with our guests in an authentic way so they can be themselves and discover Montreal in their own way. We look forward to welcoming guests and helping them get the most out of their stay whether they’re visiting for business or leisure travels.”

Hyatt operates 400 properties under the Hyatt Place brand globally. Recent openings include Hyatt Place Kyoto, and Hyatt Place New York Chelsea.
