Hyatt has announced plans for a new Edinburgh hotel under its lifestyle Hyatt Centric brand, the group’s first property in Scotland.

The 349-room Hyatt Centric Edinburgh Haymarket is set to open in 2025, as part of the Haymarket Edinburgh development which will also comprise office blocks and retails unite, and a collaboration with Edinburgh College will also see the complex offer “a world-class hospitality training academy for students and trainees focused on a career path in Scotland’s leisure, hospitality, and tourism industry”.

Designed by Foster and Partners, the hotel will feature a fitness centre, four meeting rooms, and a “fresh and exciting dining concept”, which will see the regular rotation of six street food brands.

The property will operate under a franchise agreement with the nearby Edinburgh International Conference Centre, and Marshall Dallas, chief executive of EICC said that the hotel would be “a cornerstone to attracting local and international travellers and notable luminaries to our venue each year”.

Hyatt Centric Edinburgh Haymarket will join 16 Hyatt-branded properties in the UK, and will be the second UK hotel under the Centric brand, joining the recently opened Hyatt Centric Cambridge which is located within the University of Cambridge’s Eddington development.
