From June 1, 2022 Virgin Atlantic will be offering two daily flights between London Heathrow and Delhi.

The extra flights are VS 300 and VS301 and both are operated by B787-9 aircraft.

Virgin Atlantic has not promoted this extra flight in the UK. I was alerted by Delhi-based airline analyst @Vinamralongani

Schedules for the extra flights are below:

  • VS300 London Heathrow-Delhi 1835-0810 (following day arrival)
  • VS301 Delhi-London Heathrow 0230-0750 (same day arrival)

Note that VS300 departs London on June 1 and returns as VS301 on June 2.

Perhaps one reason why Virgin Atlantic has not made any noise (about this extra flight) here in the UK is because the market between India and the US is voluminous. Of course there are direct flights, but so many travellers take indirect services via Europe or the Gulf.

Virgin Atlantic naturally wants Delhi-US travellers to route via London using onward transatlantic flights to the USA either with itself or with US carrier Delta.

Typical US destinations served would be New York JFK, Boston, Austin TX, Seattle and Atlanta.
