Dorsett Hospitality International will open its first aparthotel in Asia under its new brand Dao by Dorsett on July 1.
The Asia-based hotel company recently announced plans to debut the brand in London on June 1, with a property adjacent to the existing Dorsett Hotel on Shepherd’s Bush Green.
Dao by Dorsett AMTD IDEA Singapore will be a rebranding of the Oakwood Premier AMTD Singapore, located in the city’s central business and financial district. It will include 268 fully serviced apartment units – from studio to one-, two- and three-bedroom options – along with two dining destinations and a pool deck overlooking downtown Singapore and the upcoming Greater Southern Waterfront.
Apartments will include biodegradable in-room amenities and the hotel will also partner with small local businesses in a “mindful approach to travel”. Experiences will include chef pop-ups at the pool deck, wellness-focused offers and a number of art and community collaborations.
The new property is owned by DHI Downtown, a joint-venture company of AMTD Assets Alpha Group under AMTD Group Inc and Dorsett Hospitality International Limited.

Dorsett says that the Dao by Dorsett brand will offer “locally minded” fully serviced apartments in central locations across the world, featuring “slick and chic city interiors”, Dorsett bespoke beds, daily housekeeping and hampers filled with essentials.
The Dao by Dorsett brand joins the company’s portfolio of brands which include Dorsett Hotels, Silka, and d.Collection. Dorsett Hospitality currently operates 54 properties across 25 cities worldwide.
