Radisson Hotel Group has added the first property under its independent hotel focused Radisson Individuals brand in Turkey.
Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia Istanbul, a member of Radisson Individuals, is situated in the Sultanahmet area of the city, and features 49 rooms with views onto either the hotel’s gardens or the Marmara Sea, as well as a rooftop restaurant and lobby lounge.
Radisson Individuals launched in 2020 as a conversion brand aimed at encouraging independent hotels and local, regional chains to join the group’s platform.
The first hotel to join the collection was Henrietta House in Bath, and recent additions have included the Number One Oxford Street Hotel and Suites in Accra, and two Italian properties in Sicily and Piedmont.
Bolton Whites Hotel – located within the University of Bolton stadium, home to Bolton Wanderers Football Club – is also set to join the brand in the second quarter of 2022.
The Istanbul hotel marks the introduction of a fifth Radisson Hotel Group brand in Turkey, where the group has over 40 properties either open or under development, with plans to increase this to over 50 by 2025.
Commenting on the news Yilmaz Yildirimlar, area senior vice president, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey at Radisson Hotel Group, said:
“Despite all the challenges, Turkey has witnessed a constant growth and remains one of the most popular countries for tourism.
“We are proud to welcome the first Radisson Individuals in Turkey which further diversifies our brand offerings across the market but also demonstrates the recognition of Radisson Hotel Group with an already established presence across Istanbul.
“With Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia Istanbul, a member of Radisson Individuals, our guests will benefit from a new exclusive offering in the centre of the old town.”
