Marriott has opened the latest property under its luxury JW Marriott brand in Mexico.

The 191-room JW Marriott Hotel Guadalajara is situated on Mar Baltico in the city’s Colonia Country Club area and financial district.

Facilities include Asian and Mexican fusion restaurant Zibu, Agave Bar, a JW Executive Lounge, outdoor pool, fitness centre and four meeting rooms.

The capital of western Mexico’s Jalisco state, Guadalajara is one of the country’s largest cities, and is served by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International airport.

The hotel joins existing JW Marriott properties in the Mexican destinations of Cancun, Mexico City, San Jose del Cabo and San Pedro Garza Garcia (Monterrey) – the last of which opened last year.

IHG recently announced plans to brings its Voco brand to Mexico, with the Voco hotel Guadalajara Neruda set to open in late 2022 in the city’s financial district.
