Four Seasons Hotel Houston is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the completion of its multi-year, multi-million dollar transformation.

The hotel originally opened on April 15, 1982 and is located within walking distance of leading entertainment and sports venues, and a short drive to the city’s Museum District.

The first phase of the renovation included the enhancement of the lobby, the front drive, the spa and the fitness centre along with the addition of dining venue Bayou and Bottle and the Topgolf Swing Suites on the first floor.

The completed works include the renovation of all 289 guest rooms and 103 suites, with a design inspired by Texas skies featuring deep sky blue fabrics and warm undertones of dark oak wood, rich saddle leather and antique brass details. The accommodations also include custom-made furniture by Houston-based designer Eric Brand.

The hotel also features new pan-Latin steakhouse Toro Toro from Richard Sandoval – it takes its name from ‘toro’ meaning bull in Spanish and tuna in Japanese cooking. Located on the third floor, interiors by New York-based firm Meyer Davis feature an expansive central stone bar while the dining space includes distressed, dark oak flooring, marble clad fireplaces, and custom wood tables.

The modern-day speakeasy-style 20-seat bar and lounge Bandista has also joined the hotel, with “extremely limited” reservations according to Four Seasons. It is described as “reminiscent of a 1920s lounge that dazzles with a decadent Latin vibe” and offers interpretations of classic and contemporary cocktails as well as rare spirits from around the world.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s 1,535 sqm event space has been completely renovated and a new grand ballroom with more gathering space has been created. Sliding partitions have also been incorporated into the meeting rooms so that they can break down into smaller spaces to host concurrent events of varying sizes.

Finally the renovations included the creation of Texas’ first Krigler perfume store in the hotel lobby. The apothecary-style 74 sqm boutique offers the full range of Krigler’s existing perfumes, scented candles, soaps and also hosts workshops to make scented candles and perfumes onsite.

Tom Segesta, the hotel’s general manager, said:

“There’s no better way to celebrate our 40th anniversary than with the completion of the Hotel’s magnificent transformation. Our downtown destination is now better than ever, and we’re looking forward to sharing more great experiences with our guests and our beloved city of Houston as we move forward.”

To celebrate the hotel is offering all dinner guests of Bayou and Bottle and Toro Toro a complimentary Sparkling Ruby cocktail (in homage to its ruby anniversary) until April 30, 2022.
