Hilton has announced plans for a dual-branded Canopy and Homewood Suites property in The Gulch neighbourhood of Nashville.

The 333-room development is scheduled to open in 2024, and will be split across 181 rooms for the Canopy hotel and 152 suites for the Homewood property.

The two hotels will share a fitness centre, with other facilities including a rooftop bar and ‘Common Place’ ground floor space at the Canopy Nashville The Gulch, offering a coffee bar, restaurant and Yazoo taproom – a nod to the Yazoo Brewing Company which formerly occupied the site.

The Homewood Suite property meanwhile will feature a 10th floor sky lobby “designed as a contemporary barn with inverted pitched roofs as sculptural forms”, with “an enclosed garden courtyard and massive stone fireplace”

There will also be a combined 2,400 square feet of meeting and events space across the two hotels.

The regenerated Gulch area of the city is located between Downtown and Music Row, and is described as a “walkable neighbourhood offering murals by local artists, shops, diverse culinary offerings, breweries and more”.

Commenting on the news Phil Cordell, global brand head, Canopy by Hilton and category head, Hilton Lifestyle Brands, said:

“We are thrilled to introduce the Canopy brand to Nashville as part of this fantastic dual-branded concept with Homewood Suites.

“It’s the perfect location for guests to enjoy our sophisticated, comfortable spaces while exploring the surrounding local neighbourhood, which includes everything from energetic, live music venues to trendy shopping outlets.

“The hotel’s post-industrial design will serve as a natural extension of the community, connecting guests to The Gulch while enabling them to easily experience the sights and sounds of Music City.”
