IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened the first hotel under its Atwell Suites brand, located in Miami’s Bricknell neighbourhood.

The 90-suite property is part of a dual-branded development which also features a recently-opened Hotel Indigo property.

Facilities include suites with “counter-height desk and chair, in-room wet bar, and spacious bathroom”, as well as lobby with public co-working spaces, a pool, fitness centre, and a 24/7 beverage station offering coffees and still / sparkling water.

IHG launches the Atwell Suites brand in 2019, describing it as an upper-midscale concept with amenities and services falling somewhere between an extended-stay property and a select service hotel.

There are currently 22 Atwell properties in the pipeline across the US, including a soon-to-open new-build in Denver, and Atwell Suites Austin Airport, which will be a conversion of an existing hotel.

Commenting on the news Karen Gilbride, VP Global Avid hotels and Atwell Suites said:

“IHG Hotels and Resorts is excited to open the world’s first Atwell Suites. This offering was created to be a stylish, design-forward brand that has been absent in the rapidly growing all-suites segment.

“Designed alongside our Owner Advisory Board and with deep-rooted consumer insights on what guests need in this space, we are confident we created something that will impress guests, investors, and future owners.

“We look forward to seeing the success of Atwell Suites Miami Brickell and opening more properties across the US.”
