25 Hours Hotels has opened its first property in Scandinavia, located in the Danish capital.

25 Hours Hotel Indre By is situated on Pilestræde, close to the Round Tower and the Kobmagergade shopping street and within walking distance of Noerreport station.

The 19th century building formerly housed a porcelain factory and was subsequently used as a university building, with the hotel’s design themed around the concept of ‘coming of age’.

The hotel has been designed in collaboration with local architects BPP Arkitekter and London-based Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, with a decor that blends the old and new. The property also features a collection of over 100 artworks curated by international art consultancy Visto.

The 243 rooms range from ‘small’ to ‘gigantic’, with some including a small terrace and access to the hotel’s secret garden. ‘Passion Rooms’ include art on the walls and soft furnishings, while the ‘Knowledge Rooms’ feature reproductions of notes by Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe and Charles Darwin.

The hotel’s Assembly Hall is designed for visitors to come together over a coffee or snack, paying homage to its former use as a place where lecturers and students would gather. Additional F&B venues will open next week and include the Neni restaurant, the ground-floor Café Duse and speakeasy-style Boilerman Bar in the basement which includes live DJ sets and board games embedded into the tables.

There is also a fitness studio on the first floor as well as an outdoor sauna with indoor and outdoor loungers. Guests can also use the e-bikes from Berlin-based firm Schindelhauer to tour the city, and purchase branded products at the on-site shop next to reception.

To celebrate the opening, the brand is offering a 25 per cent discount on the normal rate for two nights or more, including complimentary breakfast, for bookings until August 31, 2022.

The brand currently has 15 properties across Europe and the Middle East, with four in the pipeline including a hotel in Trieste which is set to open in 2025.

The 25 hours Hotel Company formed a strategic alliance with Accor in 2016, and Accor now has a 50 percent stake. Ennismore and Accor entered a joint venture last year to create a new global lifestyle hotel company.
