British Airways has extended its partnership with Aviation American Gin, to offer the spirit inflight on short and long-haul services.

The flag carrier opened an Aviation Gin Bar at its New York JFK’s Terminal 7 lounge in October last year, and will now stock the Ryan Reynolds-backed (see the YouTube video below) spirit across its network.

Customers on long-haul flights will be offered Aviation American Gin as part of the drinks round, and it will also be available to purchase via the Speedbird Café on short-haul services (priced £6 for a 50ml serving).

According to BA the spirit “is infused with a democratic blend of botanicals – cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two kinds of orange peel to create a smoother, softer, more refined take on gin”.

The brand was founded in Portland in 2006, and its addition to BA’s inflight menu coincides with the carrier finally launching flights between Heathrow and Portland in June (a route which has been delayed by two years as a result of the Cobid-19 pandemic).

Commenting on the partnership Gareth Williams, international brand director at Aviation American Gin, said:

“We’re so excited to get on board with the UK flag carrier British Airways and take Aviation American Gin to new heights – the sky!

“Through this partnership, we’re keen to enhance each traveller’s experience with a deliciously refreshing Aviation Gin cocktail for flyers to enjoy on journeys near and far, offering an American twist on this quintessentially British drink!”
