Premier Inn has unveiled its latest London property, located on North Wharf Road next to the A40 and just north of Paddington Basin.

At 393 rooms the hotel is now the largest non-airport Premier Inn in Greater London, and features the group’s newest Premier Plus rooms, as well as a Bar and Block steakhouse restaurant.

The property is the first of three Premier Inn hotels set to open in London’s Paddington / Marylebone districts in the next three years, which will add a total of over 1,000 rooms to the catchment area.

The Premier Inn London Paddington Basin will be joined by the Premier Inn Marylebone (Old Marylebone Road) and a dual-branded Premier Inn and Hub by Premier Inn on Paddington’s Eastbourne Terrace.

Whitbread to open Paddington hotel

Jacqui Allum, head of estate development for Premier Inn, said that the area “has everything for us – a strong business economy, excellent transport connections and lots of entertainment and leisure attractions nearby for our guests – which is underpinning our long-term investment in the area”.

Meanwhile Councillor Matthew Green, Cabinet Member for Business, Licensing and Planning at Westminster City Council, said:

“This exciting move by Premier Inn demonstrates a real confidence in London and the West End especially as we welcome back tourists.

“The hotel’s prime location, within easy reach of Hyde Park, Marylebone and Oxford Street make it attractive for both business and leisure travellers alike.

“Westminster supports one in eight jobs in London and we recently announced a £1m fund specifically to support recruitment into our hospitality and leisure sectors.

“Over the coming years, the council will support the group with its expansion plans including helping hundreds of Westminster residents into high-quality employment opportunities”.
