Accor has opened its first MGallery property in Belgium, located in the country’s capital.

Le Louise Hotel Brussels is a rebranding of a former Sofitel property, situated on the Avenue de la Toison d’Or between the historic centre and the European quarters.

The hotel draws inspiration from the city, with its name paying homage to the nearby Avenue Louise – a bustling street known for its Haussman and Art Nouveau-style townhouses and mansions.

The 169-room property is situated around a central bright and lush courtyard, and facilities include a restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace, and six event spaces. The Maison Louise restaurant and wine bar located on the first floor has been designed to resemble a large apartment with a living room and dining table area, and features Belgian and French cuisine from chef Isabelle Arpin.

The Mister Blue bar neighbours the restaurant and has a focus on jazz music, offering both classic and original cocktail creations, and plans to host DJ sets and live music.

The hotel offers 159 rooms and 10 suites with contemporary design, king-size beds, L’Occitane amenities, Dammann tea and a Nespresso machine.

Camil Yazbeck, senior vice president development, Accor Northern Europe, said:

“Over the last five years, Accor has transformed its brand portfolio, moving from 16 brands to more than 40 with a concentration on high-value segments, including ultra-luxury, luxury, premium, and collection brands. This is where we see the growth today. Premium brands represent 22% of our overall pipeline in Northern Europe and dominated our development strategy in 2021.

“Accor’s premium brands are world-leading. MGallery is a boutique collection brand making it an ideal conversion brand and exactly what today’s guests are seeking, particularly in a post-Covid era. The premium brand portfolio growth in 2021 is a clear reflection of the power of our brands and the confidence Accor and our partners have.”

This marks the second MGallery hotel in the Benelux, following the opening of the Ink Hotel in Amsterdam. The Collection’s third hotel in the region is set to open in the south of the Netherlands in autumn 2022.

The brand has 16 hotels across the Northern European region and signed a further three in Poland, Croatia and Albania at the end of last year.

The MGallery Collection comprises over 120 properties in more than 30 countries around the world. See our review of the Hotel Molitor Paris:
