American Express has launched a new promotion offering up to 100,000 bonus points for new UK Business cardmembers, as well as up to 30,000 points for referrals from existing cardholders.
New Business Gold cardmembers who sign up by March 31, 2022 and spend £5,000 in the first three months of membership will receive 50,000 bonus points, while new Business Platinum cardmembers will receive 100,000 points when signing up during the same period and spending £10,000 in the first three months.
Note that Business Gold or Business Platinum Cardmembers who are enrolled or have been enrolled in the Membership Rewards programme in the last 13 months, are not eligible for the bonus.
The Business Gold card has an annual fee of £175 (waived for the first 12 months), while the Business Platinum card has an annual fee of £595.
Membership Rewards points can be used with 13 airline partners including British Airways, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic, as well as with Club Eurostar and three hotel groups (Hilton Radisson and Marriott).
In addition, existing cardmembers will receive bonus points when referring new members over the same period – 20,000 points for Business Gold cardmembers who successfully refer new cardmembers, and 30,000 points for Business Platinum cardmembers who complete referrals.
The promotion coincides with recent American Express data which reveals that 74 per cent of business leaders are looking forward to travelling more in 2022 – the survey was composed of 500 senior decision makers in SMEs, interviewed by Opinium January 13-18, 2022.
