Cheval Collection launches urban lifestyle brand My Locanda

Serviced apartment provider Cheval Collection has announced the launch of new urban lifestyle brand My Locanda, with plans to open its first property in Glasgow in 2024.

The upscale brand will offer “stylish, design-led” fully equipped apartments in cities around the world, with each property drawing inspiration from the local area. It is targeted at both leisure and business travellers “with an independent, youthful mindset” for short and long stays.

Properties will comprise 25-30 sqm studios, some of which will include sofa beds, and 40 sqm one-bed apartments. Each apartment will feature warm muted tones and dark joinery, and include a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine.

Ground floor communal areas will include 10GB/s high-speed wifi, dedicated spaces for business meetings and calls, a grab-and-go F&B area and a fitness studio. There will also be a ‘Wall of Curiosity’ where guests can borrow items from the community during their stay, and there will be live social feeds on display throughout the property.

The 168-key My Locanda Glasgow will open in partnership with Chris Stewart Group, with design by Hoskins Architects and interiors by 3DReid.  The aparthotel will be located on a development adjacent to Glasgow City Chambers on George Square, a short walk from Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street stations.

The Scottish property will comprise 104 studio apartments, 62 one-bedroom apartments and two one-bedroom suites with panoramic views over Glasgow. The site will also feature a coffee shop, yoga sessions, a fitness studio and pop-up entertainment.

This marks the third brand within the wider Cheval Collection, joining its Cheval Maison and Cheval Residences brands.
