Standard International will open its first property in Thailand later this year, housed within the 78-storey King Power Mahanakhon Building in Bangkok’s central business district.
The 155-room hotel will be the brand’s first in Southeast Asia, and is now taking reservations for stays from May 11, 2022.
The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon has been created by Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon in collaboration with The Standard’s in-house design team, and has been inspired by “vibrant colours, fluid shapes, evolving art installations and lush greenery that flows seamlessly inside and out”.
Features include the first international outpost of the Standard Grill, as well as Chinese restaurant Mott 32, rooftop Mexican eatery Ojo, an outdoor terrace pool and fitness centre.
There will also be a “fantasy filled tea room”, and The Parlor for music, snacks and cocktails.

The group recently announced plans for its first Irish property, to be located within the forthcoming Dublin Arch regeneration scheme next to the city’s Connolly station, and is also set to open its first property in Singapore next year, situated on Orange Grove Road across from the Shangri-La Singapore.
