IHG has opened its first hotel under the Voco brand in Africa, located in Johannesburg’s Rosebank suburb.
Voco The Bank Johannesburg Rosebank occupies six floors of a mixed-used building in the international business hub of Rosebank. It is located less than 100 metres from the Gautrain Station (Metro Express), and close to the Rosebank Mall and The Zone shopping districts.
The hotel’s 131 rooms and suites feature a colour palette of pink or navy, along with chic modern bathrooms, and the property also offers double-height ceilings and original local artwork.
The accommodations include bedding made from 100 per cent recycled materials, organic Antipodes toiletries in large dispenser bottles, high-speed wifi, smart TVs, and in-room refreshments.
Business travellers can also make use of the in-room handheld clothes steamers and large workspace with international adaptors and USB ports.
Guests will receive a locally inspired welcome treat, and can dine at the modern mid-century-inspired all-day eatery Proud Mary on the ground floor, which also offers an in-room menu of small plates, salads, grills and a wine list.
Meanwhile Workshop17 on the first floor is designed for remote working, and there are private meeting and event spaces that can be booked via the hotel.
The hotel also offers valet parking and a 24-hour fully equipped gym.
