Hyatt has entered into a management agreement with One Bangkok Co., Ltd to bring its Andaz brand to the Thai capital.
The 244-room Andaz One Bangkok will open in the fourth quarter of 2023 as part of the city’s One Bangkok development, the largest integrated development in the central business district.
Located at the corner of Wireless Road and Rama IV Road, the hotel will overlook Lumphini Park and include dining venues such as The Andaz Tavern and Lounge, and a rooftop restaurant and bar.
The hotel will be one of the first projects to open in the One Bangkok development, with the first phase set to be complete in the second half of 2023. Once fully complete in 2026, the development will include five Grade A office towers, four retail precincts, four additional luxury and lifestyle hotels and three residential towers along with art and cultural spaces.
David Udell, group president – Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, commented:
“It is an honor to collaborate with One Bangkok for the introduction of the Andaz brand into Bangkok, one of Asia’s most popular travel destinations.
“We are excited to be part of this world-class destination and look forward to delivering authentic experiences inspired by the dynamic One Bangkok district and the city’s colorful blend of tradition and modernity.”
Su Lin Soon, CEO of Development of One Bangkok, added:
“Set against the verdant Lumphini Park, Andaz One Bangkok will play a key role in complementing One Bangkok’s extensive world-class offerings of leisure and relaxed luxury in the city’s commercial heart under the concept of ‘Park Boulevard’.”
“The Andaz brand’s creative style of weaving the local culture with a contemporary twist will introduce new hospitality experiences to Bangkok. We are confident that Andaz One Bangkok will help raise the bar for Thailand’s legendary tourism sector and support the local economy as the country prepares to welcome back travellers in the coming years.”
Hyatt currently operates 24 Andaz hotels around the world, and describes the brand as “global in scale while local in perspective” which “weaves the sights, sounds, and tastes of each property’s surroundings for a distinctively local experience”.
In recent news, the brand’s New York property has rebranded to a Hyatt Centric property:
