IHG Hotels and Resorts has debuted its Voco brand in Germany, with a property located in Dusseldorf.

Voco Dusseldorf Seestern has been opened in partnership with investor group Hotelite Management, and is located in the Lorick district of the city. It is within walking distance to the banks of the Rhine river, and transport connections include Seestern station (300 metres from the hotel) which offers a 15-minute connection to Dusseldorf Central Station.

The hotel features 160 rooms with bedding crafted from 100 per cent recycled materials and eco-friendly large bathroom amenities from plant-based organic skincare company Antipodes. The design includes bright, warm pops of yellow.

In keeping with the Voco hallmark to offer locally inspired welcome treats to guests, those staying at the hotel will receive a Heidesand, a traditional German shortbread cookie made at a local bakery, upon arrival. Meanwhile, F&B venues include the all-day dining Restaurant and Bar 38, which offers an à la carte menu with local and international dishes using organic ingredients.

Further facilities include a fitness area with a sauna and steam room, and five meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology (including hybrid capabilities) with a capacity of up to 140 participants.

Oliver Walzer, cluster general manager of Hotelite, commented:

“We are proud to be the first voco hotel in Germany and are looking forward to inviting our first guests to come and experience what the brand is all about – especially in Dusseldorf, a city where fashion, culture and commerce meet. Whether it be a short city break or a business trip, our onsite hosts will make sure that visitors will have a charming, unstuffy and playful experience that brings out the very best in them.”

The Voco brand launched in 2018, and has 23 hotels around the world, with a further 33 in the pipeline.
