Budget hotel brand Point A has opened a hotel in the centre of Dublin, marking its first property outside of the UK.

This comes after the lifting of Covid-related curfew measures in Ireland last week.

The 141-room Point A Dublin is located on the corner of Parnell Street and Moore Lane, with floor-to-ceiling windows in the open-plan lounge and reception area.

Rooms feature Hypnos beds, Paul Costelloe toiletries, power showers, 43-inch smart TVs, free wifi and mood lighting, with rates starting from €90.

A bar/lounge area serves traditional Irish snacks and meals alongside original cocktails, and the hotel also offers a breakfast buffet for guests.

Local attractions include shopping destination Henry Street on Dublin’s Northside, the riverside Temple Bar neighbourhood, and the famous Jameson Distillery and Guinness Storehouse.

Nic Wenn, managing director of Point A Hotels, commented:

“We’re thrilled to finally be offering our customers a new city to explore and indulge in. At Point A, we wanted to bring a hotel to Dublin that has unbeatable value in an unrivalled location and this is really what embodies Point A Parnell St.”

The Point A brand is owned by Queensway Group and Wellcome Trust, and operates ten hotels in London, Dublin, Glasgow and Edinburgh in its portfolio.
