Travelodge has opened its second property in Walton-on-Thames town centre.

The 72-room Walton-on-Thames Central Travelodge is located at Church Street above a Marks and Spencer Foodhall, within a mixed-use development which was a former office block.

This is the group’s first hotel in Surrey to include its ‘Super Rooms’ premium economy concept, which features a “residential décor” with a colour scheme of blue, beige and taupe, as well as blackout curtains.

Rooms also feature the king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed produced by Sleepeezee, a modern en-suite bathroom with a power shower, a 32-inch TV, complementary tea and coffee making facilities, and wifi.

Hotel manager Pemba Sherpa said:

“We are delighted to open a second hotel in Walton-on-Thames and become the town’s biggest budget hotel chain. With year on year growth in visitor numbers coming to our historic town, there has been a real shortage of good quality and great value accommodation.

“Our new hotel will now help fill this gap which is great news for the local economy as research shows that our customers will spend on average double their room rate with local businesses during their stay, which can equate to an annual multi-million pound boost for the local economy.”

Last year Travelodge reported “record Q3 results”, as the group continues to recover following the Covid-19 pandemic.
