Lifestyle brand The Other House has been granted planning permission to create a ‘Residents’ Club’ in London’s Covent Garden.

The brand launched in 2019 and aims for its clubs to combine apartment-style living with hotel-style facilities, catering to both short and long-stay travellers.

The Other House Covent Garden will occupy the site of the Wellington Block, which comprises seven separate buildings including a former rectory.

The property will include the brand’s Club Flats, complete with a separate bedroom and living area with kitchenette, and public areas such as a bar, casual bistro and a rooftop bar.

Members will have exclusive access to a restaurant, spa with vitality pool and high-tech fitness centre. Guests, or ‘residents’, will be able to check in and out, and select services via the Other House app.

The brand also aims to create an inner glazed atrium at the site, and to add a further three floors in order to provide views across central London.

The Other House has partnered with architects Falconer Chester Hall and interior designers Bergman Design House for the project, which promises “bold distinctive design alongside state of the art facilities”.

Meanwhile, the brand will open its first property in South Kensington this spring.

The Other House is a joint venture partnership between London Central Portfolio and pension provider APG. The brand plans to acquire further properties in central London and internationally in the future.
