The Courtyard by Marriott brand is set to debut in Melbourne in two months’ time.

This marks the first property under the brand in the city, and joins sister properties in Brisbane and Sydney as the third Courtyard in Australia.

The hotel will open in March 2022 on Batman Street, adjacent to Flagstaff Gardens, and feature 150 rooms, architecture by Skematics and interior design by DKO Architecture.

Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne Flagstaff Gardens will include an all-day dining restaurant, street-facing café/bar and a large 24-hour fitness centre. There will also be flexible meetings and events space, including an expansive rooftop entertaining area overlooking the city.

It is close to Southern Cross Station, Queen Victoria Market, Marvel Stadium and Spencer Outlet Centre, and a short tram ride from Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

General Manager Carolyn Smith commented:

“Our guests are passionate, success-focused individuals who see travel as an opportunity for both professional and personal growth – they choose our hotel because they want to be able to work, exercise, eat well, connect, and be at their best.

“Courtyard’s modern, elevated décor, flexible workspaces, amenities, and ambiance all work together to deliver an experience that fuels and energises our guests and helps them get the job done.”

Marriott currently operates 1,200 properties under the Courtyard brand in 6o countries and territories.

Meanwhile, Marriott Hotels recently opened a new property in Melbourne, located on the Docklands waterfront.
