Marriott has announced plans to open the second W Hotels property in China’s Jiangsu Province.

The 257-room W Nanjing is scheduled to open in 2025, and will be located along the southern bank of the Yangtze River, as part of the mixed use cultural and leisure Oct Fundland development.

Facilities will include four restaurants and bars, 1,700 sqm of meeting and events space, a spa, fitness centre and “an expansive pool”.

W Nanjing will join the existing W Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, as well W properties in Chinese cities including Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Changsha, Chengdu, Shanghai and Xiamen – the last of which opened in November 2021 in the city’s East Business District.

The group also recently announced plans to debut its W Hotels brand in the Chinese special administrative region of Macau.

Marriott currently operates ten hotels in Nanjing, across its Westin, Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Renaissance, Courtyard, Moxy, Autograph Collection and Marriott Hotels and Resorts brands.
