Mama Shelter plans to open a total of seven properties by the end of 2023, with openings in Lisbon, Paris and Dubai this year.
The Accor-backed brand will debut in Lisbon later this month, with a 130-room property situated between the Príncipe Real district and Praca Marques de Pombal.
The hotel will also feature a rooftop space with views across the city, and a restaurant described as “a Portuguese reinterpretation of a French brasserie”.
Mama Lisboa will be followed by the 211-room Mama Paris La Defense in March, the brand’s third hotel in Paris, joining existing Paris East and Paris West properties. The hotel will feature a sport bar, and a “Space-themed American diner”.
Then in late 2022 the group is set to open Mama Dubai, featuring 197 rooms and 192 apartments, “a range of dining outlets”, a terrace with four swimming pools, and an outdoor “CineMama”.
Further ahead Mama Shelter is set to open a 123-room property in Bucharest in early 2023, followed by two further French hotels in Rennes and Dijon, and a 123-room Sao Paulo property by the end of next year.
In total the brand is targeting 19 openings between now and 2025.
The Mama Shelter brand was founded in 2008 by the Trigano family and designer Philippe Starck.
Accor purchased a stake in Mama Shelter in 2014, and the brand currently has 15 properties in locations including Lille, LA, Paris, Prague and Rio, as well as the first Mama Shelter in the UK capital which opened in 2019.
