Hyde Hotels has announced that its first European property will open in 2023, occupying the redeveloped 15 Old Bailey.

Earlier this year Business Traveller reported on plans for the seven-storey building – which dates back to 1874 – to be converted into an upper upscale hotel.

It has now been confirmed that the property will be known as Hyde Paradox Hotel London City, with features including 110 rooms, two restaurants and a speakeasy bar.

The Hyde brand originated as an LA nightclub in 2005, and currently counts three hotels in Hollywood Beach, Midtown Miami and its most recent opening in Dubai.

The brand forms part of Accor’s global lifestyle hotel partnership with UK-based developer Ennismore, which was announced in late 2020.

Earlier this year plans were also recently unveiled for a hotel and branded residences in the Mexican coastal town of Mazatlan.

Commenting on the news Philippe Zrihen, Brand COO and Head of Americas, Ennismore said:

“Hyde London will be our first Hyde property in Europe and our second international location. We are incredibly excited to be introducing Hyde to London, particularly at this location, which possesses such an incredibly rich history.

“Hyde Paradox Hotel London City will be a destination unto itself, bringing a new kind of hospitality grounded in the spirit of discovery, the fantasy of nightlife and the adventure of connection.”
