Hilton has signed the first hotel under its Tapestry Collection brand in Italy, with the addition of an existing property in the capital Rome.
Hotel Cosmopolita is located on Via di Santa Eufemia, close to Piazza Venezia and around 1km north of the Colosseum.
It will rebranded as Cosmopolita Rome, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in early 2022, with the group’s website stating that the hotel opens on January 28 (although reservations have yet to open).
The hotel’s 76 guest rooms and rooftop garden are currently undergoing refurbishment, and the fitness centre has also been renovated.
Cosmopolita Rome will join seven existing Hilton properties in the city, under the group’s Curio Collection, Doubletree, Garden Inn, Hampton, Hilton Hotels and Resorts and Waldorf Astoria brands. The Hilton Rome Eur La Lama is also set to open in August next year.
Hilton launched the Tapestry Collection brand in 2017, and currently has nearly 90 properties either operating or under development, including the recently added Atocha Hotel Madrid and Hotel Camille Paris Gare de Lyon.
Hilton describes the brand as a portfolio of “original hotels that offer guests unique style and vibrant personality, and encourage guests to explore the local destination”.
Commenting on the news Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton said:
“In the coming years, we are due to open eight new hotels in Italy, significantly expanding our footprint in key cities and resorts.
“Italy, like many of its European neighbours, has a large number of independent hotels that would benefit from visibility from Hilton’s 118 million Hilton Honors members, and as a result we’re seeing growing interest in Hilton’s Collection Brands.
“We’re looking forward to working with our partners at G&W Invest Srl to welcome guests at our first Tapestry Collection by Hilton in the heart of Rome.”
